Although India’s biggest Cricket Festival returns home, the circumstances are unusual with bio – secure bubbles, strict protocols, multiple Covid tests, sanitized balls, and players in masks. But that has not deterred the excitement among the fans.

Nitin Sachinist, a super fan of Mumbai Indians, said to Hindustan Times, “I am extremely happy that the IPL is returning to India and can’t wait to see all my favorite Mumbai Indians heroes in action. However, amidst the excitement, fans will be deprived of witnessing the IPL action live in the stadiums, due to the new surge in Covid Positive Cases.

Going a year back, Featuring India's most revered and celebrated cricketers such as Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, the BCCI had created a new video introducing Team India as the TEAM MASK FORCE to promote wearing masks in public places and help the country battle the COVID-19 pandemic. With the IPL approaching and the current rise in Covid Cases, BCCI has issued a 50 page document defining strict protocols and SOPs that must be adhered by all teams during the League.

While the sport governing bodies are taking all measures and precautions to curb the rise of Covid cases, especially due to the matches by issuing mandates, the Players are also doing their bit by showing up wearing masks and following all Covid Norms, displaying immaculate responsibility and civic sense as National Heroes.

The Mumbai Indians Team arrived in Chennai on 1st April 2021, masking the Covid threat with V-shwas Masks.
